Privacy
When you enter an address on TaxpayerScope, it's used for one purpose: finding which county government applies to that location.
TaxpayerScope does not keep the street address you type. It is discarded immediately after your county is identified, and it is never written to a log file, a database, or an analytics record.
The exact coordinates found for your address are discarded the same way. TaxpayerScope keeps only a coarse area, roughly a few square miles across, never a precise point.
TaxpayerScope keeps a small amount of aggregated, anonymous information about which general areas use the address lookup. This helps identify which parts of Florida are using the site, without identifying any individual address.
Using the address lookup does not create an account, a cookie, or any personal identifier.
To count separate visits without identifying anyone, TaxpayerScope keeps a random code for your visit. It is stored only in this browser tab, never in a cookie, is replaced after 30 minutes without activity, and disappears when you close the tab. It is not based on your IP address or your browser's details.
TaxpayerScope also uses this same visit code to learn which features are used, such as opening a county page, comparing counties or downloading a dataset, and whether pages load quickly and without errors. These records never include the address you type or anything else you enter in a form, and where you came from is kept only as a broad source, such as a search engine, social media, email or a direct visit.
